New Unit, New Hope

I got moved to an outprocessing unit this past week, so amongst other priveledges, I can use a computer for email and stuff. Hopefully, I won't be here much longer than 3 weeks or so, and then its off to being a civilian again.

Damn, I can't wait to be home.

Oh what a way to fight a war...

Here everybody. This one is straight from me, the guy who this blog actually belongs to.

Yup, returning from the communications blackout that is Basic Training, but only for a few days. I have so far completed 9 weeks of boot camp that was without a doubt the most difficult 2 1/2 months of my life.

Most of you didn't send me any letters. To those that did, I appreciate it greatly. And to those that didn't, its all I freakin asked for, damn it.

I'll give you all the rundown. Everything is fine for me down here, I am doing well. I guess Joe never really got around to keeping this updated (jerk), so you may not know the story that's going on with me.

About 5 weeks ago I seriously injured my shoulder running an obstacle course. I was jumping off a platform, and caught my right arm (the one I separated a few years back) in a cargo net, and basically tore through every piece of cartilege, ligament, tendon, or muscle holding my arm to my body. I had it in a sling until about a week ago, but it does seem to be feeling better lately. I am told that the injury was severe enough that I will probably be discharged from the Army, and will be sent home shortly. Its unfortunate and unexpected, but theres not much I can do about it.

Anyways, thats how things are going for me right now. Here's a few messages for people in particular:

Joe: Dammit, you said you would take care of my stuff while I'm gone!
Blair: Miss you, can't wait to be home and see you again.
Kristen: Letters. Lack of letters. C'mon now.
Emily: See above.
Travis: Can't wait for the bikes this year man.
Susan: Sorry I missed your trip down here, I really wish I could have been around.
Rachel: You never came down, so whatever. ;) Maybe I'll find my way up to Canada some time.

I guess that's about it. I will return when I can.
